VERY IMPRESSED!

by takethis

I had purchased a pair of Dansko's over two years ago. One of the inside seams began to pull apart. I took them to the store and asked if they had shoe repair service. The lady was very friendly and told me they did not repair those shoes. She offered me a brand new pair of the same style shoe. I was very impressed!! Those shoes are expensive and I would have been upset if I couldn't have exchanged or repaired them. There are still good people out there! Thank you!

Legendary service, shoes to die for and fashion-forward merchandise keep shoppers returning.

In Short
Founded as a Seattle shoe store in 1901, this popular chain is now known for manageably priced designer duds. Shoppers find a hint of sophistication in the store's white floors and pianists on baby grands. Unique departments include the Brass Plum juniors' section with Ruby Rox and Diesel, and Studio 121 for career-savvy women. A business-centric men's clothing department offers Ben Sherman suits, while relaxed styles from Marc Jacobs and Lacoste are in The Rail department.

Worst of the Best

by consumer08

Nordstrom is known for great customer service, but the Durham store is the total opposite of that. I have been in there on at least three occasions when I received no or bad service. I have literally stared directly at two salespeople in a department, only to be ignored so they could continue their personal conversation. I finally got the hint that this Nordstrom isn't interested in making sales. The only department I find helpful is makeup - the salespeople are, for the most part, very customer service oriented. Maybe the rest of the store needs to wake up! Nordstrom is selling premium product AND premium service. This store only has the former so don't expect much service.

  • Pros: premium brands, great makeup salespeople
  • Cons: lack of overall customer service

Best department store EVER!

by yellowestdaisy

I was wondering what all the fuss was about until I set foot into this beautiful, down-right luscious store- unlike any department store I've ever seen. The soft lighting, the superior customer service, the pleasing colors- each element was almost surreal in the blissful joy it provided. Highly recommended as a true treat!

It's okay, nothing to write home about

by suzyartgal

I am very disappointed in Nordstroms. It is nothing like the one in Dallas. There shoe selection is poor and the sales are not very good. The women's clothing is way over priced. Go to Saks at Triangle Towne Center. They have fabulous sales! Plus the people that work there are much nicer. One time I went in there, there was a man working the womens department (expensive clothing area with the jeans) and he looked me up and down. I was on my lunch break carrying my louis vuitton bag and I felt uncomfortable so I left. Not good and snobby! One more thing, I found the same dress from Nordstorms at Saks and it was the half the price! They were both on sale but Saks once again had better prices! One good thing is their clinque counter. They were so nice and gave me a bag full of free stuff! I did purchase alot, but it was nice regardless. Get your make-up there!

  • Pros: Clinque make up counter is great!
  • Cons: poor service, snobby

Great shoes --Can always find something!

by califdrmn99

Simply great shoes that are well merchadized, so you can actually find what your want! Not limited to super pricey high end de signer stuff like the boutiques. Pretty wide range of price points including the fancy schmancy stuff! I can always find the shoes I'm looking for at "Nordies"!

  • Pros: Great stuff in all departments--I get all my shoes there, and my husband gets all of his business casual there
  • Cons: Many of the ladies departments are higher priced than I am willing to spend.

Nordies....

by blondesororitygirl

Nordies is great-for the triangle. I'm interested in high end trendy pieces-Trina Turk, Tocca, Milly...you get the drift, and this Nordstrom's just doesn't rate in this department. Rarely if ever do they have a good selection for the classy 20 something. Shoe dept. is fab! A word on the denim's-they will do wait lists for COH and Seven's, but the styles they waitlist are already in most local boutiques! The very tall, very dark haired European, modelesque salesgirl in denim is great, very helpful--but again, the selection is lacking. Selection is also lacking in Lilly! Cute knick-nack section, great evening wear, overall a good shopping experience!

Bien Bien

by WHS_CutiePie

I like Nordstrom, I was returning shoes there and had trouble finding the reciept I had brought with me and they just told me that they'll give me the money back, without the reciept. Their shoes are great, there's such a variety.

Nordstrom it is

by Prima_Oandasan

Classy clothings, expensive shoes but worth paying for spoiled feet. Nice beautiful bags to match the expensive shoes. Worldly perfume from all over the continent to make you daydream for somebody very dear to your heart. Very pleasant atmosphere

and setting to do your shopping. Somebody playing the piano put you in the mood and relaxes every bones in your body.

  • Pros: Classy, ambiance atmospere, Expensive but right
  • Cons: crowded, less sales, open late on weekends
