Located across from Weaver St. Market, Nested is my favorite shop to browse and buy thank you, birthday, Christmas and thinking of you gifts and cards. From lovely art to oddities, there's a unique item that is bound to amuse your friends and family. My favorites include little wooden people on suction cups designed for hanging a hand towel or holding a toothbrush. The little hooks come in bubbles and definitely giggle.

I'm also partial to the unconventional party games, 3D art cards, homemade soaps and other art gifts. Definitely put some time aside to browse Nested and take home some fun items. If you're buying a gift, ask for it to be wrapped, as the wrapping jobs are beautifully artistic!

best place to buy a gift

Nested has a great selection of unique items from brands like marimekko and from triangle area and nationwide artists. They carry jewelry, homeware (rugs, fabric, pillows, beautiful dishes and cups, lamps, etc), stationary and notebooks, bath stuff (candles, soaps, lotion, etc), and random other things. What I like about Nested is that even though it is a small store there are always new things to look at, the items are unique to the store (I can't find similar things at other local "gift shops"), and they carry a diverse range of items. If I need to buy a gift for a girlfriend, my mom, my little cousins, or myself (I often go in there to shop for myself), I know I can find a good gift from Nested. The service, by the way, is great but I've never had to special order anything from Nested.

Very unprofessional - terrible customer service

I wanted to like and support Nested, but they thoroughly disappointed me. After taking a sizable cash deposit for a special order, it turned out (6 weeks and 3 phone calls later) that the owner had forgotten to place the order at all. The order I thought had been placed was intended to be a birthday gift for my husband. His birthday was 2 days later, and I was left with nothing for him to open.

As it happened, I was able to find the items (espresso cups) online for considerably less than Nested was going to charge. I gave my husband a picture of the cups to open on his birthday - not quite the same.

I always try to support local businesses, but I expect at least minimal customer service and professionalism. Nested provided neither.

Fun Designer items

Nested has some great lamps, furnishings and other fun stuff. It also happens to be accross the street from Wootini. :-)
