Worst Salon Experience Ever
by DBrownn
I tried the salon on a whim and was shocked at how dirty the place was. The staff was rude and acted like they had better things to do than work on my hair. I finally got in with someone named Alan, worst haircut I ever had!
- Pros: none
- Cons: dirty, unfriendly, no parking

I've been coming to Salon 135 for years and wouldn't go anywhere else. The salon is extremely clean and the staff is helpful & friendly. I've always gotten a great haircut and highlights, and the stylists are always willing to listen when I explain what I want. I highly recommend them!
- Pros: professional, friendly staff; accept walk-ins
great hair cuts, fun staff

i recently donated my hair to locks of love and trusted alan to cut 10+ inches of my hair and style it to fit my face and hair type. everyone loved the new cut which made it much easier (and a great deal of fun) to make such a drastic change. even when i go several weeks longer between cuts i still get compliments.
- Pros: great cuts, quick and friendly service
Five stars!!!

What a fabulous group over there at Salon 135! It's simple, you get a great looking cut and you are treated like a valuable customer every single time. I'll be taking my 13 month old son to Salon 135 for his very first hair cut!!
- Pros: Professional and friendly service
Come Only if you want to be Fabulous

I've been coming to Salon 135 for many years now and the place has only gotten better. Their location is bright and sunny and super clean. The people are wonderful: highly skilled and fun to be around. I get 2-color highlights and many layered cuts and I always feel like a million bucks when I leave.
- Pros: Color, cut, ambience
- Cons: none!
My Fave Salon
by jgullman
Alan Corpus has been my stylist for years now, and continues to deliver a meticulously-executed, flattering cut each and every time. I regularly receive compliments from strangers about my hair. I have recommended Salon 135 to several acquaintances, who have all been happy with their experiences.
I travel to Chapel Hill from Durham every four weeks - 80 minutes round trip through crazy campus traffic. I wouldn't devote this valuable time if my cut--and my experience at Salon 135--wasn't worth it!
- Pros: Talented stylists; relaxed and accommodating atmosphere
great people, fun location

located on Franklin Street, Salon 135 is a Chapel Hill institution. I've been going for years and have always gotten a good cut or color. Sylists really care about what YOU want, how much time you want to spend doing your hair and your type of hair.
- Pros: good with color and cuts
- Cons: more expensive than some places, but worth it
Best stylists ARE still there

I drive from another city just to have my hair done here. I've had cuts in NYC and Chicago that were not as good as Alan's.
- Pros: best haircuts and color
- Cons: parking if it is a unc game
Be afraid, very afraid.

I have to agree with the other people who had bad experiences at this salon. The owner Alan was ugly and rude to the other people in the salon the day I was there. The receptionist Steven was so obnoxious I can't even repeat some of the vulgar things he was saying in front of everyone. And to top it all off, they got my appointment wrong and insisted it was my mistake. Don't ever go there.
- Pros: nothing
- Cons: Unprofessional, rude, all around bad experience.
Best stylists no longer there
by Squeakycat
I was a client of Salon 135 for 10 years, and I liked them--because I liked Ashlynn and Kelly, two very talented stylists who worked there for many years. Ashlynn and Kelly are no longer employed there, and Salon 135 apparently doesn't want clients to know where they are--but they are at Capelli in Carrboro, on North Greensboro Street. I recommend that you look them up. April (who is still at Salon 135) is pretty good, but the other stylists really aren't (and I've had my hair cut and/or colored by pretty much everyone there at one time or another).
- Pros: Convenient to UNC; pleasant space
- Cons: No parking; best stylists not there any more
