beautiful

I did not want to leave this hotel or Chapel Hill. The location is in a great town with a lot of bars and restaurants. It was so quaint, clean and the rooms were beautiful. A breath of fresh air coming from the midwest!
- Pros: Quaint, clean and romantic
Very nice and extremely convenient to downtown Chapel Hill

Very nice hotel, great staff and very clean. We have stayed here twice and we will be back soon! The parking is a bit tricky but once you're there you don't need your car until you check out so it's not that much of a problem.
Elegant atmosphere, wonderful food

My family always tries to visit Crossroads ( in the Carolina Inn ) for at least one meal when we visit Chapel Hill. Over the years we've had lunch, dinner and Sunday Brunch. We are always made to feel "at home" in this wonderful historic building, and never disappointed with our meal choice. For the quality, the prices are reasonable. You can take your whole family, or go with your spouse for a romantic evening. It doesn't get any better than this. The "taking care of" starts with the valet parking and just doesn't stop, every body is so nice ( old southern manners to match the old southern building ?)
- Pros: unique ambiance, southern charm, 4-star food
- Cons: none really
Adjacent to Chapel Hill's University of North Carolina, this luxurious inn offers a glimpse of the Old South.

In Short
The hotel features a blend of an antebellum Southern plantation, neoclassic architecture, cozy parlors with fireplaces, secluded garden courtyards and three ballrooms. All 184 rooms are smartly decorated to match the inn's period design. Complimentary coffee and fresh-baked chocolate-chip cookies are provided. Valet parking, room service, fax and copy service and dry cleaning are also available.
Great historic hotel

in the heart of Chapel Hill. Close to the university and to all games fball, bball, etc. A block from Franklin Street and across the street from campus. The staff is very friendly and helpful from the bellmen/valet to the front desk and concierge. They have a small fitness center on site, but access to a 24 hour fitness center a couple miles away. The hotel restuarant, Crossroads, is impeccable! The rooms can be small as with any historic hotel. If you get in late request a handicaped room and if you have the money go with a suite - they are refurnished and will take your breath away. A must stay if you are in Chapel Hill. Make reservations early in the Spring and Summer they fill up here quick. And unless you've booked a year out, forget getting in here for football season!
- Pros: Great historic hotel, Great location, Luxurious common area
- Cons: Bit pricey

This was a wonderful place for me and my fiance' when we got engaged. There, you never once felt like you were in a university town and the people were kind and courteous. The rooms were small but quaint and offered the comforts of home.
- Pros: romantic, clean, comfortable
- Cons: parking, slightly pricey

It Beats Sleeping in the Dorm

The inn is perfectly situated, vertually on the UNC campus. The lobby is cheerful and historic, and the staff is better than average. Rooms do not live up to the image, but they are perfectly comfortable.
I would go back.
