overpriced and worst service

Whenever i have gotten take out pieces have been missing from the order (including whole dishes). Table service takes forever and most importantly they do not deliver most of the time, even if . When they do deliver they consitently change the delivery range, sometimes delivering to places others not to the same address, getting lost 9 out of 10 times and taking over an hour on average.
I will not spend another dollar there but instead drive an additional ten miles (as opposed to three) to get decent chinese take out. This barely qualifies as passable.
- Pros: passable take out
- Cons: disaterous customer service.

It is not easy to find good Chineese in Durham...I don't know why...it just isn't. This is about as good as it gets for your standard Chinese Cuisine. It is a little too American Style for my tastes, but I am a transplant from the west coast where unbelievably fantastic Chinese Restaurants are in abundance. Still, they do a better than average job on most dishes, the atmosphere is comfortable and kitschy, and the staff are very friendly.
They also use reusable take out containers, that I think is fantastic, and we re-use them instead of buying them in the stores. If you are looking for spicy, more authentic dishes...just ask them when you order, I have never been disappointed, and they have steered me toward some great meals.

I looked this place up before we went, and their website, menu, and atmosphere are nice, but the food is exactly what you would expect from some hole-in-the-wall general "chinese" restaurant. I had the lamb in garlic sauce, but I never would have guessed thats what it was if I didn't order it myself, since it tasted just like the beef that my friend ordered. It was also supposed to be a spicy dish, but there seemed to be no spice whatsoever.
Flavors were bland and thrown together in that overly saucy, cheap american/chinese food kind of way, the egg and shanghai rolls were pretty tastless. The soup was alright though, and our waiter and the owners at the door were really nice.
Would not recommend if you are looking for something more authentic and flavorful. Look up Champas in Raleigh (even though its Thai and not Chinese), it's definitely better.

Restaurant is clean and has the best Mongolian beef I have ever had. Service is fast and staff is friendly. The atmosphere is great for some alone time or evening out with your loved one.

I have been dining at Shanghai since I was a small child and have never been disappointed. The Hot and Sour soup is the best you will find in Durham and all of the entrees are served hot, flavorful and authentic. Two can easily eat here for $25 and leave with left overs! How lucky we are to have this gem in Durham!

We love chinese food, but it can be tough to find a really good chinese restaurant. Shanghai is WONDERFUL!!! Every dish we've ever had there has been amazing - they start with great ingredients, so the chicken, beef, and other meats are super fresh and tender. My mouth waters just thinking about it, it quite possibly the best chinese food we've EVER had. The atmosphere is quite pleasant, parking is super easy, service is great. Plus - they deliver too!

I have had a difficult time finding a Chinese restaurant that I really like near downtown Durham.
This restaurant has come the closest to pleasing my critical taste.
